We are pleased to share with you that the Daily Record, which recognizes talented business CEOs, higher education leaders and nonprofit executive directors throughout Maryland, has named Dr. Barbara D. Nazelrod ’68, President of The Catholic High School of Baltimore, one of Maryland’s 2024 Most Admired CEOs. Dr. Nazelrod has served as the school’s president for more than two decades. She is the longest-tenured head of any secondary school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

On September 18, 2024, The Daily Record announced the winners. A panel of judges selected the winners based on professional accomplishments, community service and the letters of reference submitted by co-workers, board members and community leaders showing the CEO’s leadership and vision.

“The 2024 Most Admired CEOs demonstrate impressive resumes and lead their companies to success, making a positive impact on the lives of others. They are trendsetters who empower those who work with them in a professional setting and on community boards,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, Managing Director of BridgeTower Media/The Daily Record. “They are good listeners who are also committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders. The Daily Record congratulates this year’s honorees.”

The winners will be honored at a celebration on November 7 at the Hilton BWI, 1739 West Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights. Food stations, drinks and networking begin at 4:30 p.m., with the awards celebration at 5:30 p.m. followed at 6:30 p.m. with dessert, drinks and networking. Winners will also be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the November 8 issue of The Daily Record and available online at TheDailyRecord.com.

Dr. Nazelrod’s recognition is a testament to the school’s back-to-back “Best Private High School for Girls” Readers’ Choice Award in the Baltimore Style Magazine. Our community is hopeful to earn this title for the third year in a row. Voting for the Baltimore Style Readers’ Choice Awards closes this Sunday, September 22, 2024. You can proudly cast your vote in the “Kids & Education” section!

The entire Catholic High community is grateful for Dr. Nazelrod’s years of loyal and dedicated service to Catholic High, which remains one of only two girls’ Catholic high schools in Baltimore City. Her commitment to ensuring a quality education for young women in the Franciscan Tradition has enabled Catholic High to flourish. We congratulate Dr. Nazelrod for this most well-deserved honor!
