Students Awarded with Academic Honors from College Board National Recognition Programs

The Catholic High School of Baltimore Juniors, Grace Kamau and Isabella Steinmetz, have earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them connect to colleges during the admissions process. Grace and Isabella earned this award by excelling on their PSAT/AP Exams.
“I'm doing all the right things,” says Grace, who received the National African American Recognition Award (NAARA). “The sky is the limit, and I am excited to see what I achieve in my last two years at Catholic High!”
Isabella feels proud of herself after receiving the National Hispanic Recognition Award (NHRA). “I feel more confident as I submit college applications because it will help me stand out in the admissions process,” expressed Isabella.
“We want to honor the hard work of these students through the College Board National Recognition Programs. This program creates a way for colleges and scholarship programs to connect directly with underrepresented students,” said Tarlin Ray, College Board senior vice president of BigFuture. “We hope the award winners and their families celebrate this prestigious honor and it helps them plan for their big future.”
